This waterfront Tahoe manse is so vast and sprawling, you might never find your way out of it.
One glance at the intersection of Church & Market Streets and it's clear something's different. Gone is the strobe-lit hole that was Bar On Church and in its place stands Churchill, a new earth-toned bar that feels like a cushy military barracks. We caught up with local designer extraordinaire Lauren Geremia — who also styled Double Dutch and Bloodhound — to see how she brought this new spot (that's already packed nightly) to life.

We're true-blue animal lovers over here at CH+D, so we're excited to support any cause that helps furry and fuzzy critters get new homes. The latest on our radar? The Mill Valley Casting Call and Pet Rescue Fundraiser for Rover at Cabana Home this Sunday, May 15. Acclaimed pet photographer Andrew Grant is encouraging any and all Bay Area dog owners to come to Mill Valley's Cabana Home with their four-legged friends in tow to be auditioned for the final edition of Rover, the block-busting coffee table book that helps raise awareness for the millions of pets dumped at shelters every year. Where there are charities and cocktails under the same roof, we're there. Immediately. That's why we're especially excited for this Wednesday's Drinks By Design event at the waterfront mecca La Mar, which was designed by CH+D favorite Cass Calder Smith!
If you live close to the southern tip of Silicon Valley, you're well-versed in the acres of glitzy shops, spas and eateries always bustling with shopaholics and crowds out for drinks. By now, Santana Row's earned quite the reputation as an oasis of stlye in San Jose. And with this latest crop of luxury residential rentals, you'll never have to stray far from the action.
All you design freaks out there can start revving up your engines: the SF Design Center is holding a public sample sale (!) with discounts of up to 70% from March 12-13, teeming with some of the best designers around.
As soon as you set foot in Rare Device on Market Street, you instantly feel like you're getting schooled in design. If you've been, you've likely had to forcefully restrain yourself from drooling on their sleek, retro-modern kitchen wares, minimalist electronics, coffee table books and even their good-looking cosmetics lines. For those waiting for the right time to splurge, now's your chance to pounce: the keenly-curated shop, which recently came under the new ownership of Giselle and Phurba Gyalzen, is throwing a grand re-opening party.
