Design Dish: Catch LA - Seafood Over Melrose

At the hotly anticipated Catch LA, the fourth itineration of the restaurant by the EMM Group led by partners Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum, the food is as delicious as the setting is beautiful. Whether you’re there for a meeting on the patio, drinks at the bar, or a romantic dinner in the dining room, the experience is memorable, the location, on the top floor of a building on the corner of Melrose and San Vicente in West Hollywood, breathtaking

Alongside the seafood classics for which the restaurant has become renowned, including Truffle Sashimi, Scallops & Cauliflower, Lobster Mac & Cheese, there are plenty of choices for carnivorous offerings and, this being LA, vegan and gluten-free options as well.  And don’t forget the cocktails.

Designed by New World Design Builders, the 12,000 square foot restaurant expertly mixes rustic charm with old-world opulence.  The result is a luxurious yet earthy space enhanced by wooden beams, exposed brick, and lush hanging floral arrangements.  Like its New York counterpart, there are both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Here, the volume’s been turned up to spectacular, aided in part by striking views of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.  The wraparound terrace, landscaped with verdant foliage, exudes the intimacy of a secret garden; a retractable roof admits the sky and stars into every corner of the clubby interior space.
